Here's a quick summary of the repair.

Scott, the regional manager for customer complaints, gave a veiled apology
saying, "We do not believe that this failure is your fault."  And they
agreed to cover part of the cost of the $1000 repair.  He said that normally
under these circumstances they would prorate the coverage based on a 100,000 
mile vehicle life expectance.  However they felt that in this case they
should cover more of the cost.  They paid 80% of the repair.  The dealership
managed to keep the repair cost to about $1000.

the piston.  Honed cylinders.
