Kress Lecture Series

Dr. Murray Peshkin

Valparaiso University is very pleased to announce the visit this Spring Semester of Dr. Murray Peshkin.  Dr. Peshkin was Asssociate or Acting Director of the Physics Division at Argonne National Laboratory for twenty years and is a Fellow of both the American Physical Society and American Association for the Advancement of Science.

We are very pleased to have Dr. Peshkin visit Valparaiso University to speak and interact with students and faculty. 

• He will be giving a public lecture on Thursday evening, April 3 at 7:00 PM in Neils 234 entitled “Science and Religion: How to End Their Unnecessary Conflict.”  This will be aimed at the general VU student and open to the public.

• He will also give a follow-up talk to science and engineering students entitled “Evolution in the Classroom and the Courtroom”  This will take place on Friday, April 4 at 3:20 pm in NSC 224. 

Alumni might find one or both of these talks to be very interesting and are invited to attend.

The visit by Dr. Peshkin is part of the Kress Lecture Series, supported by a generous gift from Dr. Kenneth A. Kress (VU ’64, Physics).  Dr. Peshkin will be the seventh speaker in this series, which began in 2002.
